Bangladesh maintains the culture
of peace. Bangladesh’s participation in United Nations Peacekeeping Operation
(UNPKO) has been characterized with high professionalism, dedication, empathy
and the operational philosophy of “Winning Hearts And Minds (WHAM)” of the
people-in need. It may be noted that, with the WHAM activities, Bangladesh
Government contributes in social progression of the locals, which have proven
to be of high value in the peace process. When Bangladeshi peacekeepers deploy in
UNPKO, they function with professionalism and empathy. Bangladesh's partnership
with African countries is built on values, mutual respect, and a collective
aspiration for a prosperous world. Aligning with this spirit in its’ core,
Bangladesh has been contributing humbly in capacity building of the host
African countries alongside fulfilling the peacekeeping mandate. With the PKO
experience of over 37 years, Bangladesh feels that it can do more in PKO
alongside the troop contribution. Bangladesh can further grow together with
African countries through peacekeeping which helps in peacebuilding and
eradicating the root causes of conflict from the beginning of PKO. Keeping
these in mind, the seminar has been organized. Representatives from friendly
nations, United Nations, international organizations, various government
organizations, national and international non-government organizations,
academicians, public and private universities would participate in this
seminar.
The events will be for two days
(09-10 December 2025): the seminar on the first day in Dhaka and a visit and
interaction with the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) Camp on the
next day in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The seminar is segmented in three sessions
on Peacekeeping to Peacebuilding with Bangladeshi Character, Growing together
with African countries and Integration of Women, Peace and Security (WPS),
Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) and Climate in Peace Process.
